The Production / Manufacturing Engineering function supports efficient, safe, and high‑quality manufacturing operations by designing, improving, and standardizing production processes. The team partners closely with production, quality, and engineering to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.

As a Production / Manufacturing Engineering Intern, you will support day‑to‑day engineering and production activities while gaining exposure to real manufacturing operations. This role is designed to help build a strong pipeline of young talent by providing practical experience, mentorship, and opportunities to contribute to improvement initiatives.

 

This position is ideal for students interested in manufacturing, engineering support, or operations who want to apply classroom concepts in a real‑world setting.

 

So, what will you be doing as an Intern?

  • Manufacturing Engineering Support – Assist engineers with production support activities, process analysis, and documentation.
  • Production Support – Help support shop‑floor operations by observing processes, identifying issues, and supporting problem‑solving efforts.
  • Continuous Improvement – Participate in CI initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency.
  • Data Collection & Analysis – Collect and analyze production or process data to support engineering and operational decisions.
  • Process Documentation – Assist with updating work instructions, standard work, and other manufacturing documentation.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration – Work with production, quality, engineering, and CI teams to support shared goals.
  • Learning & Development – Gain exposure to manufacturing engineering best practices through hands‑on experience and mentoring.
  • Employer Branding & Talent Pipeline Support – Act as an ambassador for the internship program by providing feedback and participating in engagement or outreach activities as needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

 

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field).
  • Interest in manufacturing processes and production environments.
  • Willingness to be hands‑on and work in a shop‑floor setting.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

 

Things we consider a plus:

  • Coursework or exposure to manufacturing, lean, or continuous improvement concepts.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, production, or technical environment.
  • Familiarity with basic data analysis or documentation tools (e.g., Excel).
  • Interest in a long‑term career in manufacturing or production engineering.
