Leggett & Platt, Incorporated is seeking a Senior Master Technician (aka Electrical/ Mechanical Technician) to design, develop, test, install, and support the maintenance and troubleshooting of production equipment at our Winchester, KY facility.
What you’ll do
- Ensure all appropriate safety procedures are followed.
- Assemble and install upgrades or modifications to existing manufacturing equipment.
- Assist Electrical and Mechanical Engineers in the design and development of enhancements to existing and new equipment.
- Train other technicians and maintenance staff on troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems and components.
- Work with internal technical teams to resolve reoccurring issues of reliability.
- Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate the performance of electrical components and assemblies.
- Research and test vendors’ products.
Minimum qualifications
- Associates Degree in electrical engineering technology or equivalent related experience.
- 5 Years’ Experience as an electrician or in the electrical or electronics field.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills a must.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written form.
- Ability to effectively train and coach others.
Desired technical skills
- Familiar with electrical schematics and control systems including servo drives, PLCs, motors, PC control systems, sensors, relays, transformers and other devices.
- Able to use electrical instruments to diagnose and trouble shoot machinery issues such as VOM, ammeter, and other instruments.
- Able to read mechanical engineering drawings, control diagrams and electrical circuit drawings.
- Able to perform basic arithmetic calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, algebra, geometry and trigonometry.
- Working knowledge of basic machine shop equipment such as hydraulic press, drill press, lathe, mill and hand tools.
- Previous experience in operating and performing machine overhauls, setup and installation of plant equipment.
- Must demonstrate the ability to successfully complete training required.
