Finance and Accounting Intern

We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a(n) Finance and Accounting Intern within our Specialize Products team to help support our Hydraulic Cylinders  business.  Over the last 45 years, PHC has built a reputation as a world-class hydraulic cylinder manufacturer through our superior quality control and innovation. PHC is a leading supplier of hydraulic cylinders for material handling, construction, agriculture, and transportation markets.  If you join our team, your work will ensure customers across the world have high-quality products they can use to keep their businesses running.

As a(n) Finance and Accounting Intern you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with the company’s accounting systems and gain an understanding of the company’s operations.  Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by ensuring customers across the world have high-quality products to keep their businesses running.  The team you will be working with is hard-working, and values team work in order to get the job done. 

So, what will you be doing as a(n) Finance and Accounting Intern?

• Compile, consolidate, and conduct basic analysis of accounting and finance information.
• Examine a variety of financial statements and transactions for accuracy, completeness, and conformance with accounting standards.
• Conduct month-end close activities and reconciliations of balance-sheet accounts.
• Maintain internal control documentation (Sarbanes-Oxley), along with process improvement efforts.
• Serve as a liaison for non-finance leaders, providing reporting and analysis support.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

• Must be a full-time enrolled student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree
• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• Must be able to complete a minimum of 8 weeks or a maximum of 10 weeks commitment
• Must be able to complete 40 hours per week
• Willingness to learn from others on the job

Things we consider a plus

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Hyperion HFM, SmartView or OneStream experience
• Naturally curious
