We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for an Accountant within our Accounting team to help support our business.  Over the last 45 years, PHC has built a reputation as a world-class hydraulic cylinder manufacturer through our superior quality control and innovation. PHC is a leading supplier of hydraulic cylinders for material handling, construction, agriculture, and transportation markets.  If you join our team, your work will ensure customers across the world have high-quality products they can use to keep their businesses running.


As an Accountant you will have substantial exposure to monthly closing processes, payroll reporting, and accounts receivable.  Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by taking ownership of the capital expenditure process.  The team you will be working with is detail oriented and fun, and values creating process improvements


So, what will you be doing as an Accountant?

  • Performing branch accounting activities such as journal entries, reconciliations, and managing reports (scheduled and ad hoc)
  • Applying customer payments and working with customers to resolve queries
  • Compiling and reporting weekly payroll hours
  • Managing and tracking capital expenditures, including approvals
  • Preparing quarterly, monthly, and weekly internal reporting and related financial analysis
  • Developing, modifying, and updating financial models
  • Maintain relevant controls and address internal and external audit requirements
  • Contribute to establishing and maintaining a positive team spirit through supportive and constructive attitude


To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Post-secondary degree from an accredited University in Accounting, Finance, Business or related
  • Minimum of 1+ years of Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment preferred, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of accounting concepts and US GAAP
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
  • ERP experience
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work and multi-task
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Proactive, self-educating mindset with an eye for detail


Things we consider a plus

  • Professional designation (CMA, CPA)
  • HFM experience
  • Ability to build and run SQL statements
  • Infor Visual ERP
  • Power Queries in Excel
