We, at Northfield Metal Products, a Division of Leggett & Platt, are searching for a Customer Service Representative to join our team to support our Work Furniture Components business. Our business designs, manufactures, and distributes a wide range of components and finished products that enhance comfort, motion, and style. As a Customer Service Representative, you will have the opportunity to support customers across the globe, coordinate order activity, and act as a key communicator between our internal teams and valued customers. Your contributions will have a direct impact on customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. You’ll be part of a collaborative, customer focused team that values clear communication, and strong relationships.
So, what will you be doing as a Customer Service Representative?
- Receive and process customer orders accurately through phone, email, and online portals
- Respond to customer inquiries via phone and email in a professional, timely manner
- Verify order details, pricing, availability, and lead times, ensuring accuracy within the order entry system.
- Collaborate with Production and Shipping teams to support timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor orders and shipments, proactively communicating updates or delays to customers.
- Support the RMA process, including information gathering, collaborating with Quality and final customer communication.
- Request engineering sample orders and provide customer updates.
- Maintain organized customer records, documentation, and communication logs (electronic and physical paperwork.
- Work with finance team for customer credit requests according to company policies.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to customer service processes
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- 2+ years of experience in B2B customer service, order entry, or administrative roles in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Experience working with ERP systems
Things we consider a plus:
- Previous experience in manufacturing or distribution
- Experience supporting Business to Business customers
- Familiarity with production scheduling, logistics, or supply‑chain workflows
