We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Branch Manager within our Operations team to help support our Work Furniture business. In our Furniture Components business, we design, manufacture, and distribute a wide range of components and finished products that enhance comfort, motion, and style in upholstered furniture, including recliner mechanisms, seating support systems, and sofa sleeper units. With a global footprint that includes international manufacturing, product development, distribution and sales, we are strategically positioned to support upholstered furniture manufacturers around the world.
Leggett & Platt is North America’s leading independent manufacturer of office furniture components and mechanisms. Our Work Furniture business produces task and finished components, as well as select lines of private‑label finished seating. From surface‑critical bent tube assemblies and molded plywood components to chair mechanisms, bases, arms, seats, and backs, Work Furniture brings diverse world‑class manufacturing capabilities together in the production and assembly of high‑quality contract furniture products.

As a Branch Manager, you will have the opportunity to lead a full manufacturing operation and shape the strategic direction of the Northfield branch. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by driving safety, operational excellence, financial performance, and a strong people‑first culture. So, what will you be doing as a Branch Manager?

  • Serve as the ultimate safety leader, ensuring strong EHSS programs and a proactive safety culture
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a high‑performing Branch Management Team
  • Own full P&L responsibility, including revenue, EBIT, and Free Cash Flow performance
  • Review financial results, analyze variances, and implement corrective action plans
  • Drive operational excellence through KPI tracking, visual management, and accountability
  • Champion continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and the LEG WF Performance System
  • Partner with HR, Quality, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Engineering, Accounting, and Sales to deliver branch goals
  • Build strong customer relationships and support sales growth initiatives
  • Lead annual capital planning and operational forecasting
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top talent to support long‑term business growth
  • Identify and execute opportunities to optimize the branch’s operational footprint

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of progressively responsible manufacturing operations management experience
• Experience managing factory‑level P&Ls, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
• Strong understanding of safety leadership and operational excellence
• Proven ability to build customer relationships and support new business opportunities
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
• Strong communication, leadership, and team‑building skills

Things we consider a plus:

• Experience in high‑design or custom manufacturing environments
• Background in complex, large‑scale production operations
• Six Sigma certification
• Experience with ERP systems and data analytics tools
