We at Leggett & Platt, Incorporated are looking for a Vice President of Human Resources to join our rapidly growing Automotive Team. We are a multi-billion dollar globally diversified company that designs and manufactures various engineered components and products. Our growing automotive business unit, which exceeds one billion dollars in sales, is comprised of four main product segments with operations on three continents. Our customers include OEM and Tier 1 automotive companies.

In this critical role, you will serve as a member of the Leggett Automotive and Corporate HR Leadership teams to drive transformative and strategic change through the Automotive business worldwide. The successful candidate will be an innovative and strategic thought leader with highly developed skills in the areas of change leadership, talent management, organizational development/design, organizational culture, and employee engagement. 

What will you be doing?

  • Partner with the Automotive President, CHRO, and functional peers to design, implement, and drive HR best practices across the business
  • Initiate and drive transformational HR activities in support of the organization’s current business and organizational changes, including:
    • Design, build, and implement organizational changes aligned to the changing market conditions of the Automotive business
    • Assess talent capabilities/gaps, review organization’s bench strength, and lead recruiting efforts for leadership roles 
    • Partner with change management staff to proactively and effectively lead transformative change across the business
  • Build and lead a global HR operating model for Automotive capable of delivering best-in class HR process aligned to Corporate and Automotive strategic goals
  • Ensure the smooth running of day to day employee processes and serve as a business partner to the Automotive Leadership team
  • Work closely with other business functions and peer Center of Excellence leaders from Corporate to ensure alignment of shared goals and strategic activities

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field required, advanced degree highly desired
  • Minimum 15 years professional level HR experience, with a minimum of 5 years of team leadership experience
  • HR experience leading geographically dispersed teams in a matrix environment
  • Knowledge of best in class HR practices/processes, with deep knowledge and experience in change leadership, talent management, organizational development/design, culture, and employee engagement 
  • Experience with designing and implementing HR processes
  • Experience implementing enterprise HR software a plus
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Advanced strategic, critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities
