We, at Leggett & Platt Flooring Products, are searching for a Production Supervisor in Tracy, CA. Leggett & Platt Inc. is the largest manufacturer of carpet cushion and hard surface underlayment in the United States. Our Flooring businesses manufacture and distribute foam, rubber, and fiber-based flooring underlayment for residential and commercial use. Our flooring underlayment products provide support, cushioning, and noise reduction under virtually any finished flooring material in your home or business. As the Production Supervisor, you will oversee daily operations within the Prime Department and ensure production objectives are met safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards.

 

So, what will you be doing as a Production Supervisor?

  • Lead, coach, and develop production employees to achieve departmental goals
  • Monitor and adjust production processes to maintain quality and efficiency
  • Ensure production schedules are met and productivity targets are achieved
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment
  • Coordinate staffing, training, and employee development activities
  • Ensure material availability and readiness for production runs
  • Partner with Maintenance, Quality, Safety, and other departments to resolve issues and improve processes
  • Ensure accurate completion of production reports, inspections, and payroll documentation
  • Enforce company policies, safety procedures, and quality standards
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the department
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and employee engagement

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

 

  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong math and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Forklift experience or ability to obtain certification
  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to bend, twist, push, pull, climb stairs, and climb ladders
  • Ability to distinguish product colors and densities according to specifications
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and flexible schedules as needed
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)

Safety & Quality Expectations

  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company and OSHA standards
  • Support ISO-9001 quality requirements and continuous improvement efforts
  • Participate in employee training, incident investigations, and corrective action processes
  • Maintain high standards for product quality, housekeeping, and operational performance

Salary ranges from $70,000 to $85,000 based on experience, skills, and qualifications. This position is eligible for an annual increase, subject to or based on individual performance, business results, budgetary constraints, and other factors.
