We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for an Assistant Branch Manager in Tracy, CA to help support our Flooring business.  Did you know Leggett & Platt Inc. is the largest manufacturer of carpet cushion and hard surface underlayment in the United States? Our Flooring businesses manufacture and distribute foam, rubber, and fiber-based flooring underlayment for residential and commercial use. Our flooring underlayment products provide support, cushioning, and noise reduction under virtually any finished flooring material in your home or business. As Assistant Branch Manager, you will have the opportunity to work alongside the Branch Manager and leadership and navigate key challenges, opportunities, and expansion within the operation.  Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by increasing profitability and operational efficiency, improving employee retention, and motivating others around you.

 

So, what will you be doing as an Assistant Branch Manager?

  • Support branch leadership in reviewing financial performance, analyzing variances, and assisting with action plans to address problem areas.
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to strengthen customer relationships and ensure service excellence.
  • Assist in managing operational effectiveness, including staffing levels, production scheduling, minimizing scrap, improving quality, and meeting delivery timelines.
  • Partner with leaders in Safety, HR, Quality, Customer Service, Engineering, and Accounting to maintain smooth branch operations.
  • Create a Continuous Improvement environment.
  • Help oversee day-to-day branch activities and provide support and resources to ensure a safe, efficient, and profitable work environment.
  • Contribute to recruiting, developing, and succession planning efforts to improve retention and team growth.
  • Maintain quality service by supporting organizational standards and best practices.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and administrative requirements.
  • Support compliance with governmental and corporate regulations related to business activities, environmental, health, and safety.
  • Assist in developing and implementing process improvements to boost productivity and efficiency.
  • A willingness to be Hands on when need.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing and/or warehousing operations, with exposure to financial performance metrics.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and support leadership in achieving branch goals.

 

Things we consider a plus:

  • Experience with Continuous Improvement initiatives.

Salary: $86,250–$100,000, commensurate with experience
