We, at Leggett and Platt, Inc., are searching for a Senior HR Manager within our HR team for our Home Furniture business unit. Our global Home Furniture business combines a customer focus with innovative manufacturing capabilities to create full package solutions for products you use every day. As a Senior HR Manager, you will be the HR Leader for 2 facilities, providing human resources guidance and oversight for an additional 2-3 facilities, managing a total workforce of approximately 200 employees.  Support the execution of the Corporate HR strategy and the BU level overall strategy. HR Partner to the branch managers and the branch leadership teams, develop and implement HR programs with alignment from Corporate COEs, act as culture champion and guide and develop direct reports.

 

So, what will you be doing as a(n) Senior HR Manager?

  • Act as the culture champion to build, foster and drive a People First environment. Encourage and support a creative, proactive, resourceful, problem-solving, executing, safe atmosphere.
  • Serve as a strategic partner and work with all levels of HR and local BMTs to create and develop high executing teams.
  • Partner with Corporate HR COEs & Global HR team members on projects, programs, and other HR services to support the branch and LP overall.
  • Drive continuous improvement mindset throughout the HR function to increase effectiveness and value creation.
  • Provide guidance, encouragement, feedback, coaching and development to Branch leaders and team members at all levels.
  • Gather, interpret, and analyze data to guide business decisions based on HR metrics and trends.
  • Responsible for day-to-day HR activities, to include full-cycle hourly recruitment, support salaried recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, support safety/WC activities, HRIS administration, serve as BMT member, etc.
  • Responsible for compliance to local, state and federal laws, regulations, and LP policy manuals.
  • Promote standardization and implement HR best practices across branches.
  • Own branch data management within LP HRIS (audit for compliance, accuracy and approvals with a strategic, compliance, and functional mindset).

 

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • 4-year degree in Human Resources or similar preferred.  Master’s degree in Human Resources Management or related degree preferred  
  • 5+ years of HR Leadership/Management experience and 8+ years in HR generalist-type role
  • 5+ years of prior HR experience in a manufacturing environment; multi-site HR management experience a plus
  • 5+ years of employee relations experience (investigations, employment law elements)
  • Ability to quickly establish effective relationships and collaborate with leaders at all levels
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and guide leaders through HR issues
  • Deep understanding of all facets of the human resources function
  • Experience developing and implementing HR programs required 
  • Proven ability to identify talent and foster people first culture
  • Ability to collect and analyze data to drive actions for organizational improvement
  • Significant experience with local laws and all things employment compliance related
  • HRIS experience (SAP SuccessFactors a plus)
  • Organizational development experience a plus
  • Labor relations experience a plus
