We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a(n) Operations Intern to help support our Flooring business.  Did you know Leggett & Platt Inc. is the largest manufacturer of carpet cushion and hard surface underlayment in the United States?  Our Flooring businesses manufacture and distribute foam-, rubber-, and fiber-based flooring underlayment for residential and commercial use. Our flooring underlayment products provide support, cushioning, and noise reduction under virtually any finished flooring material in your home or business. If you join our team, your work will ensure people across the world have a little more comfort in their lives.

 

As a(n) Operations Intern, you will have the opportunity to learn the technical support tools used by LP Flooring Products division. We’re looking for someone with a learning mindset, willing to jump in to get their hands dirty, and with the ability to communicate effectively with teammates. This internship will be for the Summer of 2023.

 

So, what will you be doing as a(n) Operations Intern?

  • Perform assessment on carpet cushion production reporting
  • This will involve gathering all documents used in collecting production information by the various branches
  • Create and present ideas for standardizing and restructuring information gathering
  • Standardize production report using metrics that best promote efficient manufacturing
  • Use information in the pervious tasks to refine production reporting 

 

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Management at an accredited university
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Capable of multi-tasking
  • Ability to prioritize
  • Well developed oral and written communication skills
