We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Senior Sales Manager within our Sales team to help support our Automotive business unit. That’s right! Our automotive products fall into four primary groups: Seating and Lumbar support, Wireless Charging, Motors and Actuators, and Mechanical Cables. As a Senior Sales Manager you will have the opportunity to Services key sales accounts with major OEMs and Tier1s managing all commercial tasks and growing future sales for the account. The role maintains and grows customer intimacy, monitors competition, market trends and pricing. The team you will be working with is Collaborative, innovative and quirky.
Major Actions and Support Actions:
1. Identifies business opportunities and customers. Drives the organization's sales and new product opportunities and strategic development for the regional market in line with 5-year Strategic Plan.
2. Oversees & manages professional growth & success of Sales Managers/Account Managers in line with regional sales targets.
3. Formulates sales volumes together with Demand Planners for the respective Customer Unit ensuring input in Control Tower. Ensures correct price update in QLM and correct pricing in GFP through Sales Analysts.
4. Leads quote reviews, ensures all thresholds are respected (EBIT, ROI, CAPEX). Identifies areas that need
improvement to meet market prices and prepares customer negotiation strategy based on value proposition.
5. Manages Commodity relations with the respective customer, monitors and improves customer intimacy, keeps competition and market information up-to-date, ensuring customer intimacy and competition analysis reprots being up-to-date.
6. Responsible for long-term customer meeting planning to ensure availability of key functions at customer and at L&P while ensuring travel cost control.
7. Liases with appropriate departments to ensure customer requirements are kept up-to-date and shared with the organization (input specification in QLM for each RFQ). Maintains good employee relations and confidentiality of all information received from the customer/company.
8. Ensures BPT project training participation at any time to be up-to-date with latest release levels, ensuring full application.
Experience:
- 8+ years Sales experience in Automotive, preferrably Automotive Interior
- Experience of team leadership 3+ years
- Proven ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
- Ability to influence stakeholders and proven record of interaction with senior leadership
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:
- Strong technical knowledge of product & manufacturing systems
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of MS Office
- Fluent English communication skill
