We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for Sales Representatives based out of Mississippi to help support our Home Furniture Components business. Our Home Furniture business brings an intense focus on the customer, innovation, world-class manufacturing capabilities, and a global footprint together to create full-package solutions for the industry. We do not make furniture. We make furniture more comfortable. We need the best people on our team to support our strategy, and your work will ensure people around the world have a little more comfort in their lives.
So, what will you do as a Sales Representative?
• Call on and service upholstery manufacturers that use Leggett & Platt furniture components – region-specific
• Meet and exceed sales goals and grow market share
• Develop profitable new business and grow sales in existing assigned accounts
• Partner with the sales/ manufacturing/ customer service teams to respond to customer needs, monitor accounts, and build strong customer relations
• Assist in the development of new products/ effective liaison with customers, development teams, and Leggett R&D
• Market and roll out new products to customers
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
• 8+ years outside sales experience, preferably in the Home Furnishings industry, in B2B manufacturing sales
• Ability to retain current customer business & strategically target and win new business
• Deep understanding of consumer-driven end markets (preferably in the “Home" markets)
• Ability to craft appropriate business-focused messages to & from the customer
• Proven track record of creating and implementing effective sales strategies to achieve profitable growth objective
• Experience driving continuous improvement with a sales function
Travel Required:
Minimal overnight travel (a week per quarter), daily regional travel required
