We are searching for a(n) Sales Director within our Home Furniture Central US Sales Team at Leggett & Platt. Our global Home Furniture business combines a customer focus with innovative manufacturing capabilities to create full package solutions for products you use every day. As a Sales Director, you will have the opportunity to manage customers in the Central U.S. Region.  Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by maintaining and driving profitable growth through a dedicated sales team.  The team you will be working with is dedicated and values challenging work and problem-solving.

So, what will you be doing as a Sales Director?

  • Work closely and facilitate strong communication across branch operations, product development, and executive leadership team
  • Attract, develop, and retain a strategic, diverse, and aggressive sales team and coach and mentor the field sales team to achieve targeted results
  • Assist BU VP Global Sales with strategy planning as necessary
  • Partner with product engineering, project & category management, and operations to generate substantial ideas & uncover unmet customer needs to drive product innovation
  • Solve business and customer problems creatively and foster cross BU customer coordination to drive positive change
  • Drive ownership of outstanding customer accounts receivable
  • Participate in tradeshows and industry functions

 

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • 5+ years of progressively responsible sales management experience, preferably in a global B to B manufacturing sales environments
  • Ability to retain current customer business & strategically target and win new business
  • Deep understanding of consumer driven end markets (preferably in the “Home" markets)
  • Ability to craft appropriate business focused messages to & from the customer
  • Proven ability to identify talent and create a competitive, aggressive, and winning atmosphere
  • Proven track record of creating and implementing effective sales strategies to achieve profitable growth objective

 

Things we consider a plus

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, logistics, Engineering or other relevant concentration is preferred
