We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Senior Engineering Technician within our Product Development Engineering team to help support our Home Furniture Components business.

As a Senior Engineering Technician, you will have the opportunity to bring new product ideas to life through design support, prototyping, and validation activities. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by accelerating speed to market, ensuring product quality, and supporting innovation projects that shape the future of our Home Furniture Components portfolio. The team you will be working with is collaborative, innovative, and detail-oriented, and values challenging work, craftsmanship, and diversity of thought.

 

So, what will you be doing as a Senior Engineering Technician?

  • Assisting engineers with product design, CAD support, and engineering documentation.
  • Supporting prototype development activities with internal and external resources.
  • Providing hands-on support to local operations with production-related shop activities.
  • Contributing to product validation and testing processes to ensure designs meet technical criteria.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Associate’s degree in Mechanical Technology preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 5+ years of technician-level experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with mechanical, wood, and electrical fabrication tools.
  • Ability to machine, fabricate, and assemble prototypes.
  • Experience working in a product development environment.
  • Proficiency in speaking the local language to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

Things we consider a plus:

  • Familiarity with SolidWorks and CAD tools.
  • Familiarity with product validation/testing procedures.
  • Growth mindset and drive for continuous improvement.
