We are searching for a Project Manager within our Home Furniture Innovation & Commercialization team at Leggett & Platt. Our global Home Furniture business combines a customer focus with innovative manufacturing capabilities to create full package solutions for the industry. As a Project Manager, you will have the opportunity to drive the cross-functional activities required to launch projects from development to production.  The role is key to ensuring product solutions, dates, and financial targets are optimized to meet planned solutions and customer needs. The team you will be working with values collaboration combined with rigor and discipline to follow through and create positive outcomes


So, what will you be doing as a Project Manager?

  • Develop & implement a global project launch process as part of the Idea to Launch process
  • Drive cultural change required to achieve focused, efficient, structured product behavior across multiple functions
  • Support product planning activities via timeline and resource planning inputs
  • Research, investigate, and drive cutting-edge thinking to pursue industry innovative products, processes, and technology
  • Attract, develop, and retain technical talent and create an atmosphere that drives innovative and creative thinking



To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • 3+ years of project management experience in a consumer product, technical, or B2B environment preferred
  • Proven ability to manage resources in a matrix environment without direct supervision
  • Proven system thinker with the ability to design and implement product launch processes
  • Experience successfully managing multiple complex projects
  • Ability to lead, coach, and mentor team members
  • Create project charters/deliverable documents
  • Create project timelines for cross-functional teams
  • Ability to communicate project plans and timelines to cross-functional teams
  • Manage critical path in a project management environment 
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization and with external customers
  • Ability to design processes connecting inputs and outputs between functions



Things we consider a plus:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business or related field preferred
