As a Staff Accountant you will have the opportunity to interact with and support other departments and staff within the business.  Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by analyzing and reconciling financial transactions.  The team you will be working with is collaborative, and values hard work

So, what will you be doing as a(n) Staff Accountant?

  • Recording financial transactions in your assigned area of responsibility
  • Working with others within the department preparing the consolidated financial statements, including filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission and Audit Committee materials
  • Analyzing and reconciling Balance Sheet and Income Statement activity
  • Interacting with and supporting other departments and staff, both within the Corporate Office and our operating locations
  • Working with internal and external auditors in completing audits
  • Preparing annual financial statements in conjunction with our benefit plan audits

 

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (a minimum of 15 hours of accounting is required)
  • Cumulative 3.30 GPA and 3.50 GPA in major
  • Solid understanding of accounting and strong ability to communicate, both written and verbally
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment, whether remotely or in the office
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to provide support for other areas of the Company, including finance, tax, credit, information technology, etc. and identifying accounting related matters
  • Expertise in Excel creating spreadsheets, using practical formulas, and working with large datasets

 

Things we consider a plus:

  • 2 years of related accounting experience
  • CMA and/ or CPA designation
  • Master’s Degree
  • Experience with HFM and Microsoft Dynamics AX
