The Sales Manager serves as the category and business owner for our bedding portfolio with big--box, off-price, and department store partners. This leader will own total business performance for bedding across in-store and retailer.com channels, translating the strategy set by the Vice President Sales – Retail into joint business plans with key retailers, and partnering closely with the Ecommerce Growth Manager on digital execution and analytics

So, what kind of things will you do as Sales Manager?

  • Develop and execute strategic business and category plans for bedding (pillows, toppers, mattresses) with major retailers nationwide, including distribution, revenue, margin, and digital shelf objectives across in-store and retailer.com channels.
  • Build and maintain senior relationships with key buyers, merchants, planners, and related stakeholders at big box, off-price, and department store accounts, positioning Elite Comfort Solutions as a trusted category leader and solution partner.
  • Lead joint business planning with priority retailers, identifying growth opportunities, shaping assortments and adjacencies, influencing space and placement, and negotiating programs, pricing frameworks, and promotional calendars that drive sustainable, profitable growth.
  • Partner closely with the Vice President Sales – Retail on overall account strategy, commercial terms, and multi-channel P&L performance for bedding.
  • Collaborate with the Ecommerce Growth Manager on retailer.com execution, including assortment, PDP content, search/SEO, ratings and reviews, Q&A, online promotions, and retail media programs.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product development, supply chain, and finance to align retailer plans with brand strategy, innovation roadmaps, inventory and service capabilities, and profitability goals.
  • Use data and insights, including POS, retailer portals, market data, and online reviews/returns—to monitor trends, competitive activity, and shopper behavior, and translate those insights into concrete category recommendations.
  • Provide accurate account-level forecasts (shipments, POS, and retailer.com performance), establish and track KPIs for each customer, and regularly report performance, risks, and opportunities to leadership.
  • Represent the company and category at trade shows, buyer meetings, and industry events, championing Elite Comfort Solutions bedding story and gathering insights to feed back into strategies and product development.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of sales or account management experience in consumer goods, with strong preference for bedding, home textiles, or related categories.
  • Proven track record of driving category growth and joint business plans with big box, off-price, and/or department store retailers (placement, assortment, promotions, and space management).
  • Experience managing or closely partnering on retailer.com business for major accounts (assortment, PDP content, search/SEO, ratings & reviews, and retail media) strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze POS, retailer portal, and ecommerce performance data and translate insights into actionable category and account strategies.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence both internal stakeholders and external retail partners.
  • Self-starter with a strategic mindset and hands-on execution ability.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively (50%+).
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with high expectations for ownership and accountability.
