As a Director of EHS – Environmental & Systems you will have the opportunity to lead the Corporate Environmental and Systems for all L&P business segments. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by managing and leading the Environmental and Systems functions, providing strategic direction, leadership, and technical support to advance EHS programs across the organization. This person will report directly to the VP of EHS & Sustainability and may require travel for up to 30%.
So, what will you be doing as a Director of EHS – Environmental & Systems?
- Provides leadership and builds partnership at sites across all levels of the organization to foster and promote EHS culture improvement.
- Provides guidance to both on-site and directly reporting Corporate EHS staff.
- Partners with site leadership and supervision to ensure EHS regulatory compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations.
- Works on cross-functional projects that interface with other groups, external to and within the Corporate EHS team.
- Ensures timely regulatory reporting.
- Provides strategic leadership in Global Environmental/Systems, while maintaining compliance.
- Responsible for the Global Environmental Policies and Procedures and ensures L&P sites comply with their content.
- Responsible for the Functional Data Collection systems and ensures the accuracy of the inputs.
- Provides timely information and guidance to Corporate EHS & Business Segment leadership teams, including EHS performance trends and root cause corrective actions for Environmental events and non-compliance
- Drives action plans across site locations to meet and exceed aggressive EHS goals.
- Leads corporate strategic initiatives and drives them through the entire L&P business
- Works with Corporate EHS to build procedures, policies and programs
- Provide leadership and guidance to site EHS staff in the determination and implementation of environmental sustainability initiatives to minimize water use, greenhouse gas generation, hazardous waste generation and increase recycling rate.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- 15+ years of experience in an EH&S related position, with 10yrs being responsible for multiple site locations
- Previous EHS experience in an EHS corporate or regional function is required
- Experience managing direct headcount within a Global EH&S program environment
- Strong leadership, organization, and project management skills. Ability to communicate and work with all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated understanding of standard EHS reporting methods and metrics.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint and Outlook. (Knowledge of Power BI is preferred, but not required)
- Understanding and knowledge of cloud-based (CMS) systems is required
- BA/ BS degree in Environmental Safety and Health or related degree/ 15+ years’ experience within a manufacturing setting (field, R&D, warehouse & service areas are a bonus)
