We are seeking a Demand Planner to focus on and create the best possible demand projections for the future to support near term tactical business decisions and long-term strategic business decisions. These decisions will be directly related to the output of the business sales and operations planning process.

The Demand Planner at Leggett & Platt is a hands-on position that requires someone to work tactically, with a large volume of data.

 

 

So, what will you be doing as a Demand Planner?

  • Responsible for long-term product line forecast (18M & 60M)
  • Adjust sales forecast based on lifts, promotions, etc.
  • Ensure plans include timing/launch of new products
  • Evaluate forecast relative to historic assumptions/metrics
  • Compare sales/inventory to forecast(mid-month)
  • Intimately familiar with the customer/business intelligence factored into the Demand Plan
  • Responsible for collecting customer demand intelligence from the commercial team as part of the demand planning process
  • Responsible for making the manual adjustments to the statistical forecast and its accuracy
  • Responsible for the accuracy of the finished goods forecast for a product line
  • Maintain the demand plan between IBP cycles
  • Analyze actuals monthly and create performance tracking files
  • Responsible for establishing/reviewing finished goods stocking plans with customers

 

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • 3-5+ years of industry experience in data analysis and developing business cases
  • 2+ years’ experience in dashboarding, data visualization, and reporting
  • Ability to work in cross functional teams
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excited to learn new technologies and analytical methodologies relating to business intelligence and data analysis
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills to translate ambiguous business requirements into complex analyses and actionable insights
  • A deep understanding of metrics, reporting tools, and data structures
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work in groups or alone on projects
  • Ability to align with forward vision and proactively seek solutions to achieving vision
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain Management, Mathematics. Data Science or Business-related field preferred 

 

 Things we consider a plus: 

  • Demand planning experience in the bedding manufacturing environment.
