We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager within our Specialty Foam team to help support our Bedding business. As a CI Manager, you will have the opportunity to drive teams across the Specialty Foam business using quality, lean, six sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by saving costs, eliminating waste, improving customer satisfaction, reducing product defects, and increasing market share. The team you will be working with is action-oriented and values a continuous improvement mindset and culture at all levels of the organization. This is a remote role, and the ideal candidate should be located in or around Conover, North Carolina, Fort Smith, Arkansas, or Newnan, Georgia.
So, what will you be doing as a CI Manager?
- Develop CI program and initiatives to meet customer, company and department goals and objectives.
- Utilize CI program and tools to drive continuous improvement mindset and culture at all levels of the organization.
- Manage company-wide CI ideation pipeline and roadmap.
- Facilitate development of and intense focus on KPI performance.
- Train, educate, develop, mentor branch management staff and front-line leaders to build organizational capability in lean manufacturing practices.
- Guide and direct manufacturing branch continuous improvement facilitators.
- Lead network-wide continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead Problem Solving Efforts from root cause thru short and long-term countermeasure.
- Identify, implement, and standardize practices across network.
- Develop and lead routine network report outs on continuous improvement program performance.
- 50%+ domestic travel.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- Bachelor's Degree (BS) in business administration, finance, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field
- 10+ years' experience with proven track record delivering measurable results driving cost reduction, productivity improvement, and quality enhancement.
- Action-oriented with a passion for Continuous Improvement.
- Excellent problem solving and resolution skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive decision-making and process improvement.
- Experience managing P&L.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
