As an Associate Supply Chain Compliance Specialist with our Global Trade Management team, you will play a key role in safeguarding customs trade compliance throughout L&P’s import source‑to‑pay activities. In this role, you will ensure that processes, documentation, and cross‑functional interactions align with trade compliance and internal standards while delivering strong service and support to our partners across all business units. You’ll join a collaborative, detail-driven team that values continuous improvement, strong partnerships, and accountability.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and maintain positive business relationships with L&P partners and other external stakeholders.
- Pre-screen import purchase orders to ensure compliance with U.S. Custom and other import requirements.
- Ensure accuracy of import PO data, including manufacturer, country of origin, incoterms, mode of transport, carrier and broker, and other details that will have direct effects on subsequent logistics, AP, and customs compliance obligations.
- Oversee import PO acknowledgment and status tracking; monitor for potential supply chain issues and proactively work to resolve.
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable, suppliers, and branches to resolve any match variances or other issues to ensure timely payment and fulfillment of customs-clearance obligations.
- Maintain and review import reporting - including open order and in‑transit - to identify variances, delays, or risks, and work towards timely resolution with the appropriate partners.
- Coordinate with regional offices to support supplier qualification activities, including on-site assessment, improvement plan, and other required documentation.
- Initiate systems setup and maintenance for import vendor and manufacturer data; ensure ongoing supplier and trade-records compliance by facilitating annual Supplier Data validation.
- Act as a subject matter expert and advise management and leadership on trade compliance for planning, forecasting, risk mitigation, and business strategy.
- Participate in and help lead operational activities, including documentation development/maintenance, analytics, reporting, training and other projects.
- Participate in other GTM, Corporate, or business unit initiatives as needed.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Demonstrated success in administering/implementing trade program activities.
- Exercises sound judgment and accountability when making decisions related to trade compliance, partner communication, and process execution.
- Provides leadership and guidance for other team members participating in these activities.
