Project Management Intern

Leggett & Platt, Incorporated is seeking a Project Management Intern at its corporate headquarters in Carthage, Missouri. This position will be within the Adjustable Bedding Group, which is the largest U.S. manufacturer of adjustable bases, supplying more Top 25 Bedding Retailers than anyone. You’ll have the exciting opportunity to work a project designing our next generation smart home adjustable bed from concept to a manufacturing ready product. Lead and manage a team made up of engineers and interns, developing a next generation Leggett control system.  This position will be full-time during the summer. Approximately 40 hours per week. What you’ll do:

  • Develop a new product for our adjustable head only bed, that is supported by our mobile applications, supports smart home platforms like Google Home
  • Collaborate with other Product Development Project Managers
  • Learn and improve Leggett’s project management process
  • Create long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines
  • Delegate tasks on the project to team members best positioned to complete them
  • Serve as a point of contact for team
  • Communicate with supervisors to keep the project aligned with their goals

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a degree in Engineering Management or related engineering field 
  • Strong organization, project management skills, ability to multi-task
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including presentation skills
  • Leadership skills, interpersonal skills, decisiveness, problem-solving skills, time management skills, ability to delegate effectively
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
