Organizational Learning & Development Consultant

Leggett & Platt, Incorporated is seeking an Organizational Learning & Development Consultant (OLDC) to interface with varying levels of leadership to understand the business and analyze processes, then design, develop, and deploy learning programs across various delivery mediums to support individual and organizational success. This position may be remote.

What You’ll Do

  • Consult with internal customers to identify learning and development needs
  • Evaluate business initiatives to determine the appropriate organizational effectiveness interventions needed to meet organizational goals
  • Administer and/or assist in various performance related assessments, data analysis methodologies, and management reporting
  • Identify data needs, data sources, data collection tools, performance targets and benchmarks, and assessment methodologies
  • Consult with management to gain knowledge of specific work situations requiring employees to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, and technologies
  • Assess training needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and/or consultation with managers, consultants or others
  • Develop instructional materials for training designs and participant materials for live, e-learning, or virtual training
  • Deliver / facilitate training programs, both live and virtually
  • Consult with employees and leaders to create pro-active and responsive solutions to individual, team and departmental development needs
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and deadlines


Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Knowledge of leadership development strategies, models and operation
  • Fundamental knowledge of human resource concepts
  • Ability to design and deliver training curriculum
  • Proven success at building credibility quickly at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing demands/environment


Education, Training and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelors’ degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Industrial Design, Industrial/Organization Psychology or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience (Master’s degree preferred)
  • 5+ years’ experience in learning, training and/or development field
  • Skilled knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of and experience with e-learning, web-based learning, Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other training technologies
  • Occasional travel will be required
