We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Sales Manager (m/f/d) within our Sales team to help support our Automotive business. That’s right! Our automotive products fall into four primary groups: Seating and Lumbar support, Motors, Actuators and Massage Systems. The Sales Manager (m/f/d) will service key sales accounts with major OEMs and Tier 1's managing all commercial tasks and growing future sales for the account. The role maintains and grows customer intimacy, monitors competition, market trends and pricing.
Additionally, you will:
- Identify business opportunities with new and existing customers. Drives the organization's sales with new product opportunities and strategic development in line with 5-year Strategic Plan
- Formulate sales volumes together with Demand Planners ensuring input in planning system (Blue Yonder, Control Tower). Ensure change management and correct price updates in Quotation Lifecycle Management tool (QLM) and correct pricing in Global Financial Planning system (GFP) through Sales Analysts
- Lead quote reviews, ensure all thresholds are respected. Identify areas that need improvement to meet market prices and prepares customer negotiation strategy based on value proposition
- Manage Commodity relations with the respective customer, monitor and improve customer intimacy, keep competition and market information up-to-date, ensuring customer intimacy and competition analysis reports being up-to-date
- Be responsible for customer meeting planning to ensure availability of key functions at customer and at L&P while ensuring travel cost control
- Liaise with appropriate departments to ensure customer requirements are kept up-to-date and shared with the organization (input specification in QLM for each RFQ)
- Maintain good employee relations and confidentiality of all information received from the customer/company
To be successful, you'll need:
- University degree in Commercial or Engineering
- 5+ years Sales experience in Automotive, preferably Automotive Interior
- Ownership competence and accountability
- Strong technical knowledge of product & manufacturing systems
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Fluent in English and German
- Knowledge of MS Office
