We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Commodity Manager (m/f/d) within our Global Category team to help support our Automotive business. In this role, you won't just manage a commodity - you'll influence it. You'll lead global sourcing strategies that shape product innovation, unlock cost competitiveness, and strengthen supply resilience across our portfolio. Additionally, you’ll:

  • Lead the development of global procurement strategies for components and/or raw materials (Commodity), optimizing year-over-year improvements in cost, quality, and support of ongoing business and strategic priorities
  • Partner with cross-functional leadership to establish mutual goals that align with strategic plans.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key internal stake holders; secure cross functional buy-in to Commodity strategies, develop comprehensive communication and execution plans
  • Execute contracts reflecting the results of sourcing initiatives that adequately manage business and supply risks with appropriate legal terms and conditions
  • Foster performance-based relationship with external suppliers; monitor all risks within the Commodity supply base; adapt the procurement strategies for mitigation actions.
  • Define and implement a Commodity Value Optimization strategy in collaboration with procurement team (Regional procurement / SD / Logistic).
  • Be in charge to support productivity actions of his commodity in regions related to the global material spend, to evaluate the feasibility of the productivity ideas and ensure the implementation

 

To be successful, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in financial or technical discipline, Master preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years in a Category/commodity management position, or related experience, with global responsibilities
  • Experience in a Manufacturing environment, Automotive experience preferred.
  • Strong negotiatior skills with demonstrated experience in building cost models to understand should cost within specific markets, and how to apply the knowledge to achieve results
  • To be highly analytical with solid communication, interpersonal, written and verbal skills as well as to be motivated and able to work in fast-paced environment
  • Advanced skills in analytical Excel, Power Point, AI tools and Systems Database/Query Capability
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication and training skills
  • Strong business and financial acumen as well as product & process engineering curiosity
  • Strong team building and talent growth and development skills
