Detailed Job Description

 

Education

Associates degree, or higher, in related field. Education equivalency will be considered, such as an industrial apprenticeship program and/or military technical training. Must hold certificate of competency in applicable fields(s). 

Experience

5 years work experience in an Industrial Maintenance environment. Military experience in a technical field will be considered. Must have experience with the following: Calibration, Flow, Level sensors, Temperature monitoring, PLC, Reading & interpreting electrical and mechanical prints, 3 Phase power, variable speed drives, Industrial controls, be able to lift 50 pounds, Climb ladders, work at heights up to 25 feet above floor.

Other Requirements

Must demonstrate skills in the following: Interpersonal relationships, active listening, team-building, communication, planning, organizing, scheduling, and negotiating. Must possess self-control, initiative, patience, influence, and positive attitude. Must be able to receive and give constructive criticism.

Duties and Responsibilities

Safe use and care of all hand/power tools and shop equipment (e.g. grinders, drills, drill presses, saws, belt sanders, etc.) 
 Awareness of rigging and lifting devices (e.g. slings, chain-falls, come-alongs, block and tackle, and jacks 
 Reading & interpreting electrical and mechanical prints 
 Ability to pull fuses, lock-out motor starters, enter electrical panels, disconnect and reconnect motors, and understand and troubleshoot basic control systems 
 Knowledge of preventive maintenance 
 Knowledge of power transmission devices and rotating equipment (e.g. gears, gearboxes, bearings, seals, etc.) 
 Welding and brazing 
 Pneumatics, hydraulics, pumping, and vacuum systems 
 Equipment adjustments, calibration, alignment and vibration monitoring 
 Fluid handling and dynamics relevant to work area, which might include any or all of the following: water, steam, air, CO2, nitrogen, and refrigeration.

Installation, maintenance, adjustment and repair of electrical aspects of production equipment, motors, drives and power distribution panels. 
 Installation and maintenance of electrical systems or components in plant and office buildings.

Troubleshoot, locate, identify, or diagnose malfunctions.
