We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Machine Maintenance Specialist within our US Spring team to help support our Bedding business in Monroe, GA. If you join our team, your work will ensure people across the world have a little more comfort in their lives.
As a Machine Maintenance Specialist you will have the opportunity to Maintain our state-of-the-art production machines to ensure consistent standards are met in the production process. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by ensuring all products meet customer expectations and demands. You will be an important part of the Manufacturing Team as you work with our machine operators and Technicians.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have a good understanding of the following skills or be pursuing them through formal inside or outside education.
- Safety Procedures and Programs.
- ISO9001.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good math and computer skills.
- Must be multiple tasks oriented.
- Must be able to use critical thinking skills in a fast-paced environment to make sound decisions.
- Must be able to solve problems using Continuous Improvement tools and techniques.
- Elevate the processes using the tools and techniques of Continuous Improvement.
- Self-direction and initiative
- Technical support skills
- Must be able to work well in teams with other employees
- Ability to diagnose and replace components.
- Ability to use tape measure; and to use a computer.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Possess a strong work ethic.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
The primary duties of the employee are (but are not limited to) the following:
- Trouble shoots equipment
- Removes, replaces and or repairs machinery parts
- Ensures all safety and lock out / tag out procedures are followed
- Initiates and participates in process improvements
- Initiates self-directed activities
- Performs machine set up on the computer.
- Report any safety or maintenance related issues.
- Works with the operator assigned to the machines and performs adjustments needed of the machines.
- Ensures quality of finished product and adjusts as necessary to ensure quality product.
- Responsible for leading changeovers in an efficient manner to meet production needs and minimize downtime.
- Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformity related to product, process and the system.
- Conduct Quality checks to identify and record any problems relating to the product, process, and the quality system.
- Initiate, recommend, or provide suggestions to improve the product or process.
- Identify and control nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
