We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for an EHS Manager within our US Spring Group to help support the Environmental, Health, & Safety responsibilities for our Bedding business. As an EHS Manager you will have the opportunity to lead and ensure compliance with Branch and Corporate policies and procedures, as well as all Government mandated regulations. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by overseeing and implementing programs to help protect our employees and the environment.
So, what will you be doing as an EHS Manager?
- Manage, train, maintain supplies, and complete reports for all safety related policies and procedures
- Maintain written safety programs and other security issues
- Perform and/or coordinate all safety inspections and conduct accident/loss investigations
- Mitigate risk by seeking ways to eliminate or lessen safety concerns proactively
- Work closely with Corporate and Division HR and Safety contacts
- Facilitate monthly safety meetings and employee education
- Maintain OSHA and other regulatory logs and reporting
- Manage waste disposal and evaluate waste streams for environmental compliance
- Manage Corrective Action Requests and Preventative Action Requests
- Drive continuous improvement by managing corrective and preventative action requests.
- Oversee special projects like site layouts, facility modifications, and partnerships with local agencies
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to conduct effective meetings by developing and following an agenda
- Well organized, detail oriented and good computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Management or leadership experience in EHS
- Knowledge of EHS laws and regulations
- Experience in the application of Continuous Improvement tools and techniques
