POSITION SUMMARY: This position performs orbital welding of tubing and components with a particular expertise in orbital welding operations.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

•             Manufacture product that meets quality requirements.

•             Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications. Inspect product and, if non-conforming, process via non-conforming material procedures.

•             Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.

•             Meet time and schedule standards for assigned work

•             Correctly process work via required paperwork and MRP system.

•             Prepares and processes parts in semi-automated orbital weld machinery.

•             Verifies correct assembly in manufacturing tooling before and after processing.

•             Loads and adjusts machinery programs as required.

•             Troubleshoots process variation.

•             Utilizes manufacturing routers through MRP system.

•             Follows manufacturing production schedules.

•             Workforce Development – Identify training needs (or opportunities) to supervision.

 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

 

•             A genuine belief in continuous improvement and disciplined processes.  A willingness to analyze, challenge and change processes, if needed, to create a more efficient environment and culture.

•             Additional position specific qualifications (i.e. computer software)

 

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED:   

•             2+ years of welding experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with progressive welding certifications.

•             Ability to read/interpret blueprints.

•             General understanding of welding processes.

•             Experience with measuring tools, i.e., calipers, micrometers and height gages.

 

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE REQUIRED:

•             Progressive welding certification
