Leggett & Platt Aerospace is seeking a Controller for our Pegasus location in Middletown, Connecticut.  Founded in 1989, Pegasus is recognized as the world leader of fabricated tube and pipe assemblies, with supporting component machining for the aerospace, power generation, ship and submarine building and other hi-tech industries.  As part of a global S&P 500 company, Pegasus’ growth continues at a rapid pace.  In this role, you will be responsible for managing the Finance and Accounting function including cash flow, inventory, forecasting, and working capital.  If you are looking for a new opportunity that is both challenging and rewarding, we want you!

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Solving financial problems related to the preparation of financial reports, including the company’s balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, and cash flow forecast
  • Developing, managing, reporting on the A/P, A/R, procurement, inventory functions, budgets, forecasts, financial analysis, cash flow planning & execution, financial reporting, and general accounting
  • Proactively identify potential financial, operational and administrative problems and bottlenecks, and to make recommendations on how these problems can be solved.
  • Maintains monthly and year-end financial statements and supporting schedules, including analysis and interpretation to Sr. Management of same.
  • Monitoring and regulating cash flow
  • Managing inventory costing and bi-weekly reporting to financial institution
  • Interfacing with sales, engineering and operations on finance issues, including quoting rates and methods, purchasing methods, and job profit and loss

 

What you’ll need:

  • Knowledge and prior experience with general accounting, including detailed cost accounting, GAP, cash flow management, budgeting and financial compilation reporting
  • A genuine belief in continuous improvement and disciplined processes and a willingness to analyze, challenge and change processes, if needed, to create a more efficient environment and culture. Must also understand how to communicate these transformational changes to a diverse workforce
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills including ability to effectively present information to upper management, customers, public groups and/or board of advisors

 

What we’re looking for:

  • Ten (10) years' experience in contract manufacturing position; AND
  • B.S Degree in Accounting; OR CPA;  MBA is a plus
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Experience as an Operations leader is a plus
