At L&P Aerospace, we specialize in creating complex tube and duct assemblies using high-performance materials capable of withstanding extreme pressure, temperature, and chemical interaction.

 

After our materials have gone through the necessary processes, we are left with high-performance finished goods that are ready to be incorporated into assemblies for our customers.

POSITION SUMMARY: Set up, operate, and program CNC Lathes.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Conduct all set-up operations in support of machining for self and others.
  • Set up and operate machines in accordance with process sheets and any other required paperwork (i.e. drawings, specifications, etc.).
  • Create, edit, and/or retrieve CNC programs from system files and execute.
  • Adjust machine controls and change tool settings to keep dimensions within specified tolerances.
  • Inspect and verify conformance of product to specifications, using a variety of inspection equipment such as gages, micrometers, indicators, shadowgraph, and micro-height.
  • Use manufacturing paperwork including travelers, blueprints, and sketches.
  • Meet time and schedule standards.
  • Identify set-up reduction opportunities and Lean process opportunities.
  • Properly use the MRP system to record job information.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED:   

  • 5 years of relevant CNC machine experience.
  • Ability to read basic CNC lathe programs.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
  • A firm understanding of CNC programs to include format and editing.
  • Ability to use various inspection gages.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
