We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Financial Analyst within our Cincro facility located in Liberty, NC, to help support our Work Furniture business unit.  In our Work Furniture Components business, we design, manufacture, and distribute a wide range of components and finished products that enhance comfort, motion, and style in the work and home furniture industry. So, what will you be doing as a Financial Analyst?

  • Work closely with the Controller and business leadership to improve and maximize Return on Capital Employed (ROCE).  The Senior Financial Analyst will bring outstanding analytical skills to bear on root cause analysis and corrective action plans driven by insights from income statement, balance sheet, and operational Key Performance Indicator (KPI) review.
  • Share the close and reporting cycle with the Controller, assuring a capable system of back-ups for close, reporting, and internal controls.  Work closely with the local team and corporate organizations to maintain accurate books/records, assure a strong internal controls environment, close the books, report results, and forecast future periods.
  • Assure the financial intelligence of business decisions by effectively balancing financial and operational needs.  Comfortable acting as a financial mentor, coach, and educator for the team.
  • Analyze business cases for capital and other initiatives with focus on clearly and accurately telling the story to secure capital and/or expense funds to support the initiatives.
  • Participate in the development of the strategic plans and work closely with the branch leadership team to establish the annual operational budget, capital plan, and working capital initiatives. Develop and operationalize profit improvement strategies while driving working capital improvements.

 

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • 4-year degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics required, MBA, CMA or CPA desired.
  • 2-3 years manufacturing / distribution finance experience preferred.
  • Good understanding of financial (ERP) systems and IT infrastructure with a strong understanding of financial accounting fundamentals.
  • Desire to spend time on the production floor and the insight to connect manufacturing to the financials.

  • Ability and interest to collaborate with manufacturing and business leadership to drive outstanding results for customers and shareholders.  Knowledge of manufacturing, supply chain, purchasing, and materials management.
  • Confident oral and written communication skills.  The humility to know what you don’t know and the conviction to assert a point of view in the absence of complete information.  Adaptable to changing circumstances.
  • Strong Excel skills and the ability to convert data to information.
  • Knowledge of Lean and a Continuous Improvement mindset.
