Lean / TPM Coach

Leggett & Platt, Incorporated is seeking a Lean/TPM Coach for our Domestic Bedding Group. We’re looking for a conscientious leader who is passionate about their work and leading others. The Coach will be responsible for identifying opportunities for improvement, developing and leading the implementation of necessary improvements and advancements to the manufacturing and business processes within the Bedding division.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Hands on involvement implementing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) model across Leggett’s domestic Bedding business
  • Develop and implement local principles and operating practices consistent with the foundation of the CI/Lean Manufacturing System
  • Leadership and accountability for upholding superior equipment performance, reliability, and preventive maintenance programs
  • Collaborate with teams across the Bedding division to identify continuous improvement opportunities in manufacturing and other business processes. Reduce waste and improve operational/administrative efficiencies through the execution of labor, space, and inventory reductions. Champion improvements to material and information flow.
  • Responsible for the CI & TPM functions in the branches - create and enhance a diverse, enthusiastic and creative work environment that motivates the branch teams to fully utilize and grow skills and talents in these functions by promoting collaboration and cooperation
  • Lead, plan, organize, and facilitate and/or conduct Lean/CI training sessions for internal and external personnel; promote positive culture throughout the branches
  • Support the compliance of regulatory, quality, and customer requirements
  • Fulfill responsibilities in Health & Safety as defined by legislation and the company H&S program. Lead a safety-first approach maintaining a zero-accident culture. Ensure and monitor work, accident prevention, and safe working environment across the business.  

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in business, engineering, or related discipline preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in CI systems and methodologies including TPM, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma
  • Proven leadership skills, including influencing skills without direct reporting
  • Exceptionally strong drive, sense of urgency, energy level and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communications skills both written and oral
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, teach, mentor and train
  • Financial and costing knowledge is an asset
  • Good knowledge of ISO9001
