The Quality function drives operational excellence by ensuring processes deliver consistent, high‑quality outcomes while continuously improving efficiency and performance. Six Sigma plays a critical role in this effort by applying data‑driven methodologies to reduce variation, eliminate waste, and improve business results.

 

This internship supports active Six Sigma and Black Belt projects while reinforcing the organization’s commitment to developing future improvement leaders through hands‑on learning and mentorship.

 

As a Quality – Six Sigma Intern, you will support Quality teams and certified Six Sigma practitioners by assisting with improvement projects across manufacturing and business processes. This role provides practical exposure to Six Sigma tools and methodologies while contributing to measurable, real‑world improvements.

 

This position is ideal for students interested in quality, continuous improvement, or operational excellence who want to build a strong foundation in Six Sigma and develop skills valued across industries.

 

So, what will you be doing as a Quality – Six Sigma Intern?

  • Six Sigma Project Support – Assist Black Belts and project teams with ongoing Six Sigma improvement initiatives.
  • Data Collection & Analysis – Support data gathering, validation, and basic analysis to identify trends, defects, or improvement opportunities.
  • Process Mapping & Documentation – Help document current‑state and future‑state processes using standard Six Sigma tools.
  • Root Cause & Problem Solving – Support root cause analysis activities and development of corrective actions.
  • Performance Tracking – Assist with tracking key metrics and reporting progress on Six Sigma project outcomes.
  • Continuous Improvement Activities – Participate in workshops, Kaizen events, or improvement reviews as needed.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration – Work with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations teams to support project goals.
  • Learning & Development – Gain exposure to Six Sigma methodologies (DMAIC) and quality best practices through hands‑on application.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

 

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Interest in Six Sigma, quality, or continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work with data and follow structured methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to learn in a team environment.

 

Things we consider a plus:

  • Coursework or exposure to Six Sigma, Lean, or continuous improvement concepts.
  • Familiarity with basic data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, charts, metrics).
  • Experience in manufacturing or process‑driven environments.
  • Interest in pursuing Six Sigma certification or a career in Quality or Operational Excellence.
