The Production / Manufacturing Engineering function is responsible for designing, improving, and supporting manufacturing processes that ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality production. Manufacturing Engineers partner closely with production, quality, and other engineering functions to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
This internship reflects the organization’s commitment to employer branding and early‑career talent development by providing meaningful, hands‑on manufacturing engineering experiences that help build a strong pipeline of future engineering talent.
As a Manufacturing Engineer Intern, you will support manufacturing engineering activities while gaining exposure to real‑world production environments and engineering practices. This role is designed to engage early‑career talent, provide professional development opportunities, and strengthen the pipeline of future Manufacturing Engineers.
This position is ideal for students interested in manufacturing, process improvement, and operations who want practical experience and mentorship in a collaborative engineering environment.
So, what will you be doing as a Manufacturing Engineer Intern?
- Manufacturing Engineering Support – Assist Manufacturing Engineers with day‑to‑day process support, analysis, and documentation.
- Production Process Improvement – Support initiatives focused on improving safety, quality, efficiency, and throughput.
- Data Collection & Analysis – Collect and analyze production or process data to support engineering decisions and improvement projects.
- Process Documentation – Assist with developing or updating work instructions, standard work, and process documentation.
- Continuous Improvement Projects – Participate in CI, lean, or cost‑reduction projects that drive measurable results.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration – Work with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to support operational goals.
- Learning & Development – Gain hands‑on experience through mentorship, project work, and exposure to manufacturing best practices.
- Employer Branding & Engagement – Serve as an ambassador for the internship program by sharing feedback, participating in engagement activities, and supporting early‑career initiatives as needed.
- Additional duties as assigned.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong interest in manufacturing processes and production environments.
- Willingness to be hands‑on and work in a shop‑floor setting.
- Basic problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
Things we consider a plus:
- Coursework or exposure to lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or production systems.
- Experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment.
- Familiarity with basic data analysis or engineering documentation tools.
- Interest in long‑term career development within Manufacturing or Production Engineering.
