Responsibilities:

  • Design robust, parametric 3D models to support new product development activities.
  • Create full assembly structures based on the engineering bill of material (BOM).
  • Develop technical 2D drawings (for both part and assembly) in compliance with L&P drafting standards.
  • Revise existing CAD data (2D and 3D) to support engineering change activities.
  • Audit 2D drawings as needed to enforce standard compliance amongst other team members.
  • Save/revision control/status data in Teamcenter as required to support the various project phases of development (concept, prototype, production).
  • Design/manage/release data in the customer’s PLM system as needed.
  • Produce 3D packaging studies (for customer review, interference/clearance checks, etc.).
  • Participate in general design review meetings (internally and externally).
  • Develop presentations for various reasons.
  • Maintain accurate time entry of work hours.
  • Manage individual workload to meet targeted deadlines.
  • Communicate any potential delays to respective team members in advance when necessary.
  • Facilitate the exchange of data with customers/suppliers as needed (for quoting, design review, approval, etc.).
  • Attend additional training courses as requested.
  • Adhere to all company policies/procedures as needed.
  • Support other departments with any CAD relates activities as needed.

 

Qualifications:

General

  • CATIA V5 design experience (3D parametric modeling and 2D drafting).  Other design related experience using similar CAD software (NX, SolidWorks) may also be considered.
  • Understanding of general GD&T practices.
  • Experience managing an engineering bill of material (BOM).
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience using Teamcenter PLM system (nice to have).
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Educational

  • Completion of community college / technician / technologist / engineer diploma or related.

Work Experience

  • No work experience required if trained in CATIA V5.
  • 3-5 years of work related CAD design experience in other software.
