We are searching for an Electrical System Engineer within our Engineering team at Leggett & Platt.  Our global Home Furniture business combines a customer focus with innovative manufacturing capabilities to create full package solutions for products you use every day. We don’t just make furniture – we make furniture more comfortable. When you join our team, your contributions will ensure that people around the world have a little more comfort in their lives.

As an Electrical Engineer you will have the opportunity to drive design, integration, and validation activities for electrical systems and components for new product development and released product support.The team you will be working with is collaborative and innovative.

So, what will you be doing as an Electrical System Engineer?

• Gather component requirements, define via drawings and other technical documents, communicate requirements internally and externally. 
• Drive component and system validation tests to ensure feature set and quality levels are met.  Define validation procedures and tools as needed.  Record, document, and communicate validation results.
• Execute component design release processes including drawing & design releases internally & externally.
• Support released products via cost reduction efforts, quality improvements, engineering changes, and related.
• Research, investigate, and drive cutting edge thinking to pursue industry innovative products, processes, and technology

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

• 1+ year of electronics/electrical engineering experience preferred
• Knowledge of & experience with analog & digital circuitry, reading schematics and component data sheets, operating meters and oscilloscopes
• Strong collaboration skills:  ability to interface with cross-functional team including hardware and software developers, project managers, and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication
• Working knowledge of global electronics suppliers and supply chains preferred
