As a Plant Manager you will have the opportunity to plan, direct, and coordinate the operations of the plant. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by obtaining maximum efficiency and meet performance objectives. The team you will be working with is strategic and resourceful, and values the importance of coordinating people and resources effectively.
So, what will you be doing as a Plant Manager?
- Handle all financial elements for the plant, including labor, material, and overhead
- Prepare and deliver an accurate yearly budget
- Oversee all personnel actions and ensure they are handled in accordance to policy
- Monitor all internal systems for accuracy and compliance with company rules, standards, expectations, and applicable laws.
- Controls significant manufacturing projects, plans, and schedules facility assignments, and sets priorities
- Identifies opportunities that best utilize the location’s infrastructure and meet customer requirements
- Supports Sales and cross-functional teams to proactively develop product and service solutions
- Prepares budgets for approval, including those for funding and implementation of programs
- Resolves problems by adjusting priorities, schedules, and reassignment of workforce when necessary
- Control obsolete and excess inventory, provide inventory models to maintain inventory effectively and accurately
- Monitors corrective actions to ensure the location is improving efficiency, service, profits by analyzing and enhancing those actions
- Confirms the location is meeting contractual obligations to the customer
- Ensures sufficient capacity is available within the location to carry out the objectives and delivery of products
- Reviews all internal and external reporting
- Directs and coordinates the location’s financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, and increase efficiency
- Analyzes technology, resource needs, and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects
- Analyzes operations to evaluate performance of the location(s) and its staff in meeting objectives, and to determine areas of potential cost reduction or program improvement
- Approves and monitors work completion and performance by contractors
- Participates and encourages participation in the Continuous Quality Improvement process
- Knows and understands all company policies
- Motivates, outlines and delegates methods to surpass all company goals
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- Education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree
- Equivalent to 10 years increasingly responsible experience in all aspects of manufacturing facility management required
- Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, and the analysis and reporting of financial data
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
- Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products
- Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions
- Possess skills to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one
- Possess the ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
- Able to monitor/ assess performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action
- Can identify complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- Good oral comprehension and expression, able to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences and the ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand
- Possess deductive reasoning, able to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
- Have the ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events)
