Job Title: Maintenance Technician Electrician
Position Classification: Non-Exempt – Hourly
Pay Range : $35.00 -$40.00
Job Summary
Maintenance Technicians are responsible for repairing, maintaining, building, overhauling, and troubleshooting various types of machinery, equipment, and facility systems. This position also performs maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of tank systems, plumbing systems, and pump systems to ensure safe and efficient plant operations. When maintenance activities are not required, Maintenance Technicians will support production operations, including pourline activities and the unloading of tank trucks and railcars.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Education & Experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Review maintenance work orders, preventative maintenance schedules, and assigned projects daily to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
- Analyze recurring problems with machinery and equipment and develop permanent repair solutions and cost reduction initiatives.
- Perform preventative and routine maintenance as scheduled in a timely manner.
- Ability to identify and source repair parts using prints, spreadsheets, catalogs, online resources, or vendor consultations, and obtain quotes for requisition approvals.
- Provide and maintain personal hand tools necessary to perform job duties.
- Perform work on mechanical drive systems such as belts, pulleys, speed reducers, roller chains, sprockets, shafts, and bearings commonly used on conveyor systems and production equipment.
- Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills involving mechanical systems and components.
- Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other equipment as needed.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and practices.
- Understand and comply with all lockout/tagout procedures.
- Maintain housekeeping standards in the maintenance shop and all work areas, including cleaning equipment and workspaces after repairs are completed.
- Perform facility and building maintenance, repairs, and improvement projects as needed.
- Follow all rules, policies, and procedures outlined in the Company Handbook.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and components, including 480-volt three-phase, 220-volt single-phase, 110-volt single-phase, and 24-volt AC/DC control systems, including contactors, drives, photo eyes, proximity switches, coils, limit switches, safety switches, fuses, and breakers.
- Replace failed electrical components as required.
- Demonstrate strong hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
- Identify failed hydraulic components and repair hydraulic systems including control valves, pumps, cylinders, and pressure transducers.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on tank systems, plumbing systems, pumps, valves, piping, and related equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical and operational issues involving pump systems, transfer systems, storage tanks, and associated equipment and perform repairs as necessary.
- Inspect tank systems, plumbing systems, and pump systems to ensure proper operation and identify potential issues before failures occur.
- Support pourline operations when maintenance activities are not required, including assisting with production equipment operation and material handling as directed.
- Safely assist with the unloading of tank trucks and railcars, including connecting transfer equipment, monitoring transfer operations, and following all safety, environmental, and operating procedures.
- Cross-train and provide support to production operations as needed to meet business and customer requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
- Minimum of one (1) year of maintenance technician experience in a manufacturing environment with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting responsibilities preferred.
- Experience maintaining industrial pump systems, plumbing systems, tank systems, or fluid transfer equipment preferred.
- Experience working around railcar and tank truck unloading operations preferred.

- Ability to safely perform material transfer operations involving tank trucks and railcars.
