Job Title: Shipping/Receiving Specialist

Position Classification: Non-Exempt - Hourly

 

 

Job Summary:

To coordinate the materials and inventory being received, shipped, and stored into the facility.

 

 

Qualifications, Knowledge, Education & Experience:

Must be at least 18 years of age to perform this job. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Maintain shipping schedule up to date and email to appropriate distribution list.
  • Hand out work orders to team members for staging and shipping of orders.
  • Check drivers in and assign doors.
  • Ensure all paperwork is signed and accurate before turning in to customer service.
  • Scan all paperwork and keep in orderly fashion on the computer.
  • Communicate in a timely fashion the status of orders to customer service, managers, supervisors, leads and directors.
  • Scan and email all dock audit forms to quality manager.
  • Scan and email all trailer inspection forms to safety manager.
  • Ensure all receiving paperwork is signed, printed name, and date before scanning to appropriate distribution list.
  • Ensure efficient operation of shipping and receiving product to customer while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping practices in shipping area.
  • Practice proper safety techniques.
  • Complete general area maintenance duties on equipment as assigned. This may include help from the maintenance department when necessary.
  • Follow all procedures and guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and/or requested.

 

 

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

  • Good mechanical aptitude.

  • Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; maintains a clean and organized work environment.
  • Quantity - Meets productivity standards; Completes work in timely manner; Strives to increase productivity.

  • Good attention to detail.
