The Quality team works closely with Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, and Operations to ensure product excellence, drive continuous improvement, and support customer satisfaction through robust quality management systems and manufacturing processes.

 

In This Role:

As a Quality Intern, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting quality assurance and continuous improvement activities within a dynamic manufacturing environment. You'll work alongside experienced quality professionals to analyze processes, investigate quality concerns, monitor performance metrics, and help implement solutions that enhance product quality and operational efficiency. This internship is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, and interested in developing a strong foundation in quality systems and manufacturing excellence.

 

So, what will you be doing as a Quality Intern?

  • Assist with quality inspections, audits, and verification activities throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Support the collection, analysis, and reporting of quality data, including defect rates, process capability metrics, and customer quality performance indicators.
  • Participate in root cause investigations and corrective action activities related to quality issues.
  • Help maintain quality documentation, work instructions, control plans, inspection records, and standard operating procedures.
  • Assist in monitoring compliance with company quality standards, customer requirements, and applicable industry regulations.
  • Support internal quality audits and continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects and improving process consistency.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to identify opportunities for quality enhancement.
  • Assist with product testing, measurement activities, and validation of corrective actions.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing, problem-solving, and operational excellence projects.
  • Help prepare quality reports, presentations, and performance dashboards for management review.
  • Observe and follow all company safety, environmental, and quality policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of quality principles and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interest in quality assurance, continuous improvement, and manufacturing excellence.
  • Strong initiative and willingness to learn from hands-on experiences.
  • Ability to work onsite at L&P Guangdong Zhaoqing L&V Co. Ltd. in Zhaoqing, China.

 

Things we consider a plus:

  • Exposure to manufacturing, automotive, or industrial environments through coursework, projects, or previous internships.
  • Familiarity with quality tools such as Pareto Analysis, Fishbone Diagrams, 5 Why Analysis, SPC, or FMEA.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, or quality requirements.
  • Understanding of quality management systems such as IATF 16949 or ISO 9001.
  • Experience using measurement equipment such as calipers, micrometers, or gauges.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and quality reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of data visualization and reporting software for quality analysis.
