The Production / Manufacturing Engineering function supports manufacturing operations by ensuring processes, products, and customer requirements are effectively translated from order to production. Collaboration between engineering, production, and customer‑facing teams is critical to delivering high‑quality products on time and meeting customer expectations.

 

This internship supports both operational efficiency and customer satisfaction while reinforcing the organization’s commitment to developing early‑career talent and strengthening its employer brand.

 

As an Intern (Customer Service) within Production / Manufacturing Engineering, you will support customer‑related activities that connect engineering, production, and sales teams. This role provides hands‑on exposure to how customer requirements are managed within a manufacturing environment and how engineering and production teams work together to deliver solutions.

 

This position is ideal for students interested in manufacturing operations, customer service, or engineering support who want a people‑focused role with strong exposure to technical and operational processes.

 

So, what will you be doing as an Intern (Customer Service)?

  • Customer Support Coordination – Assist with customer inquiries, order support, and communication related to manufacturing and engineering processes.
  • Engineering & Production Liaison – Help coordinate information between customer service, manufacturing engineering, and production teams.
  • Order & Documentation Support – Assist with reviewing customer requirements, specifications, and related documentation to ensure alignment with production capabilities.
  • Issue Tracking & Follow‑Up – Support tracking of customer issues, changes, or requests and help ensure timely resolution.
  • Data & Reporting – Help maintain basic customer, order, or production data and support reporting needs.
  • Process Improvement Support – Assist with identifying opportunities to improve customer service workflows and communication processes.
  • Learning & Development – Gain exposure to manufacturing operations, engineering support functions, and customer‑focused processes.
  • Employer Branding & Talent Pipeline Support – Represent the internship program by providing feedback and participating in engagement or outreach activities as needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

 

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Interest in manufacturing operations and customer service.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across technical and non‑technical teams.
  • Attention to detail and a willingness to learn.

 

Things we consider a plus:

  • Exposure to manufacturing, operations, or engineering environments.
  • Interest in customer service, operations coordination, or manufacturing engineering careers.
  • Familiarity with basic data tracking, documentation, or reporting tools (e.g., Excel).
  • Prior internship, customer‑facing, or administrative experience.
