 Lead Person 1st Shift: Davidson

 

REPORTS TO:  Production Foreman

 

SUMMARY:

Responsible for ensuring safety, quality, delivery and production standards are met as they relate to any task, product or employee that has been assigned to their cell.  The Cell Lead will also ensure that all policies and procedures are being followed and executed correctly.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure all policies and procedures are documented and being adhered to by work-cell team members.
  • Identify and implement lean/continuous improvement philosophies to achieve targeted work cell objectives (e.g. safety, quality, and efficiency)
  • Ensure work cell compliance with all quality procedures. This includes the overall responsibility of the finished product that is shipped to the customer.
  • Conduct weekly safety meetings with work cell team.
  • Have working knowledge of all products and procedures within your work cell and provide training to new or transferred employees.
  • Analyze and use structured problem-solving skills to product and process concerns.
  • Work collaboratively with all other functions as needed to clearly communicate issues and concerns and participate in problem solving teams as needed. Seek assistance when a solution to a problem is needed that cannot be solved by the team.
  • Prioritize and schedule production to ensure on time delivery
  • Monitor materials associated with your specific product line such as part availability, quantity, etc.; Report any discrepancies to the Production Supervisor.
  • Responsible for meeting or exceed production goals and efficiencies.
  • Coach, train and follow up with work-cell team members.
  • Act as a positive liaison between employees and management
  • Communicate with personnel as needed.
  • Review, record and verify scrap daily
  • Ensure daily production charts are made out correctly
  • Defer to supervisor for any disciplinary issues
  • Maintain the cell cleanliness and organization.  Promote good housekeeping practice throughout the entire production area

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute, rate, ratio and percent and to interpret and draw bar graphs.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and product information books. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
