Join Our Team as an HR Generalist!
Are you a people-focused HR professional passionate about supporting teams and improving workplace processes? We’re looking for a highly motivated HR Generalist to support four of our West Michigan businesses and help shape an engaging, high-performing environment.
In this role, you’ll be a trusted partner to teammates, leaders, and cross-functional teams—helping elevate the employee experience from onboarding to career development and beyond.
What You’ll Do
As our HR Generalist, you will:
- Be an HR contact for branch teammates—handling onboarding, offboarding, benefits, and day‑to‑day employment questions.
- Support training and development programs, including skilled trades training, co-op programs, and structured career pathways.
- Coordinate leaves of absence, serving as a supportive liaison throughout the process.
- Partner closely with the safety committee, tracking progress and supporting safety-driven initiatives.
- Assist Continuous Improvement (CI) projects by supporting organizational development efforts and project coordination.
- Support plant projects, using project management skills.
- Provide backup support for HR teammates on recruiting activities and company events.
What You’ll Bring
You’re a great fit if you have:
- A bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or a related field — or equivalent experience in human resources.
- Knowledge of the manufacturing industry, including workforce needs, scheduling, and production environments.
- Experience with benefits, onboarding/offboarding, hiring practices, training programs, and general HR operations.
- Proficiency with MS Office products.
- Strong proficiency working across HR platforms—with accuracy in data compliance, employee changes, and communication.
- Experience coordinating leave of absence cases with teammates, leaders, and healthcare providers.
- Organizational development or project management skills, especially supporting Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to partner effectively with safety teams and cross-functional groups.
- A proactive, team-centered approach—and a genuine passion for helping people grow and succeed.
