We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Global Account Manager within our Commercial & Customer Sales team to help support our Work Furniture business unit. In our Furniture Components business, we design, manufacture, and distribute a wide range of components and finished products that enhance comfort, motion, and style in upholstered furniture, including recliner mechanisms, seating support systems, and sofa sleeper units. With a global footprint that includes international manufacturing, product development, distribution and sales, we are strategically positioned to support upholstered furniture manufacturers around the world.

Leggett & Platt is North America’s leading independent manufacturer of office furniture components and mechanisms. Our Work Furniture business produces task and finished components, as well as select lines of private label finished seating. From surface-critical bent tube assemblies and molded plywood components to chair mechanisms, bases, arms, seats, and backs, Work Furniture brings diverse world-class manufacturing capabilities together in the production and assembly of high-quality contract furniture products.

As a Global Account Manager, you will have the opportunity to develop and execute holistic sales strategies with some of the industry’s largest and most influential customers. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by driving profitable growth, strengthening customer relationships, and shaping the future success of our Work Furniture business unit.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Drive profitable sales growth within assigned accounts and identify new opportunities.
  • Own and strengthen business relationships with senior leaders (up to VP-level) at strategic accounts.
  • Develop and implement account strategies to expand current portfolios and capture new business.
  • Conduct periodic business reviews and deliver customer scorecards.
  • Provide customer insights to guide new product development and innovation.
  • Collaborate across WF Global Sales, Finance, Engineering, Quality, Customer Service, and Legal teams.
  • Partner with executive leaders and external business owners to maximize value creation.

 

To Be Successful in This Role, You’ll Need

  • 5–8+ years of experience as an Account Manager or in customer-facing roles with large, complex companies.
  • Proven track record of driving sales growth and achieving KPIs.
  • Strong strategic planning, critical thinking, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) with the ability to influence executive-level decision makers.
  • High financial acumen and ability to leverage data for decision-making.
  • Technical knowledge of manufacturing processes; ability to read blueprints a plus.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Project, Word; experience with ZOHO CRM and Power BI.

Things We Consider a Plus

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Engineering.
  • Mechanical or technical background with manufacturing experience.
  • Experience in global account management and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide input on product development and innovation.
