Leggett & Platt ® Consumer Products Group, located in Georgetown, KY, is searching for a Picker/Packer/Shipper to join our team.
Leggett & Platt® Adjustable Beds is the bedding industry’s premier provider of adjustable bed bases – creating high-quality, feature-rich products at competitive price points. We are the largest U.S. manufacturer of adjustable bases, supplying private label adjustable bases to more Top 25 Bedding Retailers than any other company.
The Picker/Packer/Shipper retrieves raw material from storage location, supporting shipping document requirements, so every load is shipped in an organized, accurate, safe and timely manner. This position assembles kits according to route sheet and label correctly.
So, what will you be doing as a Picker/Packer/Shipper?
- Sort, identify, store and inventory parts.
- Package and label kits for shipment and production.
- Utilize UPS and FedEx stations per work instructions.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area.
- Utilize the RF system for all job functions.
- Administer the cycle count program.
- Process packages returned following the process steps.
- Understand and practice the policies and procedures for ISO 9001 and Continuous Improvement (CI).
- Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformity related to product, process, and the quality system.
- Identify and/or record any problems relating to the product, process, and the quality system.
- Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels.
- Verify the implementation of solutions.
- Control further processing, delivery, or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
- Complete all other duties as assigned.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills, including general data entry, to include usage of programs such as: Outlook/Teams and Excel
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English in order to ensure workplace safety, operational efficiency, and quality control.
- Must be able to work a 10-hour shift, with overtime as needed.
- Must be able to meet the essential functions of the position (including lifting up to 50lbs, bending, standing for 10-hour shift, performing work in confined spaces, and climbing ladders to retrieve parts)
- If forklift certified, adhere to all plant safety practices during operation.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk continuously throughout the workday.
- Capability to lift up to 75 lbs. as needed.
- Push and pull carts or baskets manually.
- Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to identify quality issues and read instruments.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to work overtime and perform emergency tasks as needed.
- Ability to work 10- hour shifts Monday through Thursday 6am – 4:30pm.
