Leggett & Platt, Incorporated is seeking a Division Controller for our Flooring Products group. L&P Flooring Products is the largest manufacturer of carpet cushion and hard surface underlayment in the United States.

The Division Controller reports to the Division Vice President of Operating Accounting and has responsibility for 13 manufacturing facilities. This position will be based in our Flooring Products unit office in Fort Worth, TX.


Essential Responsibilities

The Division Controller is a vital part of the division’s senior management team and will work directly with the Division President, sales and operations leadership, and will have significant interaction with corporate accounting. The Division Controller coordinates and prepares all forward-looking financial statements, including strategic plans and forecasts; as well as ensures that policies and procedures are followed for adherence to a system of internal controls. In addition, they are responsible for management of the monthly period close processes including general ledger reconciliations, accruals, financial reporting, and variance reconciliations.



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA/CMA or MBA preferred
  • Minimum of five years of related accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in “what if” business analyses related to a full cycle manufacturing operation
  • Detailed understanding of overhead and manufacturing variance analyses
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and management skills
  • Track record of effective management and development of direct reports
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Some domestic travel
