Field Service Technician

Leggett & Platt, Incorporated is seeking a Field Services Technician at our Gribetz International on the West Coast. This role requires 75% travel, both domestic and international, so the ideal candidate will need to hold a passport. If you enjoy seeing the world, working with a variety of people, and being intricately involved with hands-on projects then this may be the role for you!

What you’ll do

  • Prevent occurrences of any non-conformities related to product, process or the system
  • Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process and the quality system
  • Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels
  • Verify the implementation of solutions
  • Control further processing, delivery or installation of non-conforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition is corrected
  • Coordinate with sales, design, operations and customer service to meet customer needs
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and retrofit Global Systems Group machinery and equipment
  • Continuously improve the process of servicing the customer
  • Set-up machinery at customer’s location
  • Train customers / operators on operation of machinery
  • Train customers / maintenance personnel on maintenance of machinery
  • Review troubleshooting techniques with customer
  • Inspect and replace defective parts/items
  • Recommend additional parts/items needing replaced
  • Review work performed with customer to verify work is to customer satisfaction
  • Identify, record, and discuss any problems relating to the product, process, or quality
  • Provide solutions, improvements, and/or recommendations as needed


Minimum qualifications

  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally
  • Ability to perform occasional weekend work when required
  • High school or GED
  • Experience in mechanical/electrical field
  • Possess technical/mechanical skills, good customer relations skill and work ethic
  • Detailed oriented, with safety in mind
  • Ability to interpret technical blueprints, drawings, and manuals


Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical degree or training
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Adaptable to changing project situations, product lines, and customers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
