About Our Team:

At Leggett & Platt’s Pacoma GmbH, we are a global leader in hydraulic cylinders and motion technologies used across construction, material handling, agriculture, and industrial applications. Our Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) team plays a critical role in ensuring that customer demand, production capacity, and inventory levels remain perfectly aligned. By connecting Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance, the S&OP team helps drive reliable delivery performance, optimized production planning, and strategic growth across our Eschwege facility.

In This Role:

As a Sales & Operations Planning Intern, you’ll gain hands‑on experience in the planning processes that keep Pacoma’s hydraulic cylinder production running efficiently. You’ll support demand forecasting, production scheduling, and inventory analysis while collaborating closely with manufacturing, logistics, and commercial teams. This internship is ideal for someone analytical, detail‑oriented, and eager to learn how integrated planning supports precision manufacturing and customer satisfaction.

So, what will you be doing as an S&OP Intern?

  • Assist with demand forecasting by analyzing customer orders, historical trends, and market fluctuations.
  • Support production planning activities, including capacity checks, scheduling updates, and material availability reviews for hydraulic cylinder manufacturing.
  • Help prepare and maintain S&OP reports, dashboards, and KPIs used in monthly planning cycles.
  • Monitor inventory levels for raw materials, components, and finished cylinders to identify shortages or excess stock.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure alignment between demand and production capabilities.
  • Participate in monthly S&OP meetings and support follow‑up actions, documentation, and communication.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives that enhance planning accuracy, workflow efficiency, and cross‑functional communication.
  • Other duties as assigned.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data, trends, and performance metrics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data management tools.
  • Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Interest in production planning, forecasting, or operational excellence within a manufacturing environment.
  • Detail‑oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
  • Ability to work onsite at Pacoma GmbH in Eschwege, Germany.

Things we consider a plus:

  • Experience with ERP or planning systems (SAP strongly preferred).
  • Exposure to manufacturing, hydraulics, machining, or assembly environments.
  • Familiarity with inventory tracking tools or S&OP analytics.
  • Understanding of Lean, continuous improvement, or process optimization.
  • Interest in data visualization or reporting automation.
